Aparna Taware is bringing to public attention a grave matter involving Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital in Domlur, where her beloved pet cat, Pixie (ID 115773), suffered due to alleged negligence and mismanagement.

[Bengaluru, Karnataka], [12th July 2024] — In a case that has sparked public concern, Aparna Taware, has filed a complaint against Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital, Domlur, with the Animal Welfare Board of India and People For Animals, led by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi. The complaint has been forwarded to the Karnataka Animal Welfare Board for further investigation.

Key Allegations:

  • Suspicious Circumstances: Taware’s cat, Pixie, was admitted to Cessna Lifeline on July 12, 2024, under the care of Dr. Sachin. Despite paying ₹25,818 for treatment,

  • Within hours, Aparna made the decision to withdraw Pixie from further treatment and requested to continue her care at home. Despite this decision, Dr. Vathsala insisted on continuing treatment based on outdated records, not Pixie’s current condition.

  • Lack of Transparency: Aparna requested a video update of Pixie’s condition, a standard procedure promised by the hospital staff. However, this footage was never provided. Later that day, Aparna was informed that Pixie had passed away. The lack of transparency and the hospital's failure to deliver the promised video raise serious questions about their care practices and financial motives.

  • Despite assurances from Dr. Pawan Kumar to Maneka Gandhi that Taware would receive video footage of Pixie’s care, she has not received any video. The hospital staff, including Dr. Vathsala, Dr. Usmani, and Dr. Pawan Kumar, have repeatedly denied her access to this crucial evidence.

  • Ongoing Delays: Maneka Gandhi personally asked Taware to visit the hospital to resolve the issue. However, since August 3, Taware’s brother has made multiple visits to the hospital, where Harish Sharma and other staff members have continuously delayed the process, citing various excuses but failing to provide the video footage of Pixie’s daily care.

Public Call for Action:

Taware is urging an immediate investigation into the practices at Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital. She highlights the need for transparency and accountability in veterinary care and warns other pet owners to be vigilant.

Statement from Aparna Taware:

“This ongoing lack of transparency and repeated delays raise serious concerns about the hospital’s integrity. Despite promises made to Maneka Gandhi by Dr. Pawan Kumar, I still have not received the video footage of Pixie’s care. My brother has been visiting the hospital since August 3, but Harish Sharma and the hospital staff continue to delay and avoid providing the video. I am calling on the public and authorities to help ensure no other pet owner faces a similar nightmare.”
